We are so lucky

I was just looking through the WW forum and getting ideas in the food and recipe section and I suddenly thought how lucky we are these days to be able to look up recipes and great sites on the net. Spare a thought for the women (and men) of yesteryear, who had to rely on old recipes books and recipes from their mothers and grand-mothers. If we feel like cooking something we only have to do a search and we will be told what to cook and how to cook it. Maybe I am just getting old but I really appreciate the life we have and the convenience of the computer and the knowlege we have at our fingertips.

And of course we also get the opportunity to meet our nice blogger friends while tinkering on our computer!

I agree - the internet went down here for a good part of Monday and I was lost! Not just catching up on blogs but we so rely on it for dispatching work etc.

I so agree with you. I love the internet. I have found so many things to do, to buy, places to go, but especially in this weight loss community it has been invaluable.

Have a great day :)

I feel the same - I was off line all of last week...didn't know what to do..lol
Living in a rural area, it makes it so much easier to shop around!

By the way I am loving my mini tramp, I am starting with 2x 15 min - thanks for the idea :)
( I would not have got that without the net...

Love the net, esp broadband! I dont think I could go back to dial-up (I'm v.spoiled!). I have to admit I still love recipe books - I have my Nans cooking "bible". She passed away when I was 7, so I dont have a lot of memories, but I love going through this book and seeing all the recipies she has slotted into the pages and notes she has taken for dinner parties - it makes me feel closer to her. You cant get memories and moments like that online :-)

Yes, I also love the internet, especially with kids and when they ask a tricky question I don't have a clue how to answer, we go to the internet and find out. I just wish I had more time to look around on it, there are not enough hours in the day for me.

It's brilliant. I wouldn't be able to work for myself, if I didn't have the internet. It just opens up so much more communication with the rest of the world. I know there are some negative sides to the net but I think it's mostly positive and I don't think it stops people from communicating like normal, in person. I may not write letters anymore but I have access to so much more information now and can be more informed.
