Winter walking challenge

Well we are starting week 7 of the Winter Walking Challenge. Eight weeks sounded easy, but actually it has been quite a challenge. The first three weeks went smoothly and I managed my 10,000 steps a day. Then, as happens in this life, things cropped up which made it more difficult. I am determined to do the steps for the next two weeks though, so we will see how I go. Then winter will be over and I think I will try to do about 7,000 steps daily. I also think that my body needs one or two days rest from exercise each week.

I think your aim of 7,000 steps is a sensible one. You are maintaining now and not trying to lose weight - also agree with the body needing a day or two rest! Have a great day

Agree with Anne - but well done on actually setting yourself a challenge and aiming to achieve it - I always think it's those sorts of things that keep us interested. :-)

You are right - your body does need some rest days inbetween the exercising. Al has always been a firm beleiver in that !!! What a rip off the advertisers are - they really do catch people with the way they advertise. Quite often when something is advertised as "Lite" - it is the colour that is light and not the fat content !!!! Have a great day and good luck with your walking challenge.
Take care and be good !

I was amazed by your post about the advertising - how cheeky!

You have done so good to do this on your own but with 'friends' on here for support. Truly wonderful work and you deserve a little treat away at the beach!!! Keep on dreaming, you never know when those dreams come true....did you ever dream about size 10 jeans being too big for you?? Cheers

Can't believe the winter is almost over. Thanks for the reminder. Good luck with your walking this week.

It is so much easier walking when it's not so cold!!

It has been tough hasn't it. The days when I have managed it or gone over have included a 30 - 45 minute walk at lunch, a 20 minute walk to catch the bus, 30 minutes on the tramp plus walking the long way around everything during the day. It has not been sustainable up to now. But I still think we have moved more because of the challenge.

They are doing a new one starting in september that will involve Snakes and Ladders. Are you going to join officially so you can be on the leaderboard?
