Recycle!

I have given away most of my clothes that are now too big for me and now I have started knitting again I wish I had kept my knitted jumpers to recycle.

DH has accidently lost about 5 kilos since I have lost weight and his beautiful black knitted jumper that I made him a couple of years ago (and he had hardly worn) is now way too big. Last night I tried to unpick the stitches to re-knit it but, as I had sewn it up never to come undone, I couldn't get it undone. I then had a half cut up mess! I couldn't bear to throw away all my hard work so I decided to get my sewing machine out and make cushion covers! I am so glad I saved my knitting.

Don't always throw out or give away - recycle!!!
P.S. (Why doesn't black photograph well?)

It's a lovely day here.

The cushions are amazing and black will work well with Winter on it's way. PS: we have had some neighbour drama as well. People can be very strange...

Clever girl. They look fantastic. Just the thing to cuddle up to when it is cold and breezy outside. Now I have to rethink some of my chucking out pile. How would striped shirt cushion look?? Naaaah I think it will go in the charity bin.

Have a great day Suzy. :D

Oh, very nice jumpers and now nice cushion covers!! You could felt them too, if they are pure wool, I have seen people on the net doing that. I don't know how that will help you!!!!!! But there you go!!!!

WOW, the cushions look great! And given they perfectly co-ordinate with the black trim on your deck you'd nearly think your husband was put on the treadie so you could get your mitts on his jumper!

Suzy, I have long read your blog, and thoroughly enjoy it. I have also tried a few of your recipes.....thanks for your blog.

In answer to your question, about why black doesn't photograph well. A camera tries to make everything 'middle grey'. Have you ever seen snow photos and the snow is grey not white?

When the camera sees black, it actually over exposes, giving you a grey rather than black. Likewise, a predominantly white photo, causes the camera to under expose. To get true blacks, set your camera to under expose. You can do this by using a negative exposure compensation value.

I have probably made this as clear as mud lol...........

Keep up your lovely blog.
