Fragile

Sorry I haven't been blogging lately. I have been busy helping friends after their Dear Mum died last week. She was quite old, but she was still their Mum. It made me feel a bit fragile and brought back some memories of my own experiences.
So between that and my usual commitments I haven't had a lot of time.

I am about to try knitting socks for the first time. Dear daughter bought me a set of four needles and some sock wool. I have made quite a few things over the years, but have been afraid of socks, so here goes....

Have a lovely weekend everyone. I have a free day tomorrow and must catch up on housework, with some shopping thrown in.

Sorry to hear about your friends losing their mother..
I cant even begin to imagine what it must be like. I dread the day i havent got my mother there to talk to..
I know how devastated I was when i lost my grandmothers..
I was very close to both of them...
I dont cope at the best of time with loss but that must be heart wrenching..
Good luck with the sox...My mum knits anything and everything...
beautiful baby shawls and all...
I have no idea how she does it.. all those needles going at once.. haha sadly i didnt inherit the knitting bug...

No matter how prepeared you are, it is always a shock and the depth of feeling a surprise.
How exciting though: socks!! I know you will be an excellent sock knitter. Enjoy your day off!!!

Your friend is lucky to have you, love and support is so important at these difficult times. Funny - I knew something was amiss......

Dh and I still have both our parents and are dreading the day they are no longer with us. We just make the most of the fact they are still here. So many of our friends have already lost parents.....

Knitting socks is great fun, I used to knit alot once upon a time. Knitting is very conducive to living in a cold climate. I don't even own anything knitted now. Your socks will be beautiful and warm for those winter evenings in front of the TV curled up and cosy.......

What a dear friend you are.

I'm sure the socks will be a hit like everything else you do.

Have a great weekend.

ohhhh what a lovely friend you are, losing a member of the family or a friend is hard, having a friend to lean on for support is great, certainly needed I know.

Enjoy the knitting....my mum is forever knitting or sewing or crotcheting....I can't even hold a knitting needle....
