S.A.D. (click here to read about it) - and some comfort food

View from my deck -Not even this rainbow could peep through the grey winter sky.

I am sure I suffer badly from S.A.D. Maybe I need brighter lights or maybe I just need to move to the Sunshine Coast!?!

For now I will try to keep busy and look forward to Spring and Summer. After all, they are only a matter of weeks away.

I made some yummy egg and bacon pies for lunch:

Low fat pastry sheets, one egg and one chopped lean bacon rasher and chopped parsley and pepper in each pie. Nothing like a pie and sauce and some homemade veggie soup with a sprinkle of parmesan to cheer up a cold, dark day.

Yuuuuuuuuuumy. Also, cool pics of you and your son. I've met one of my blog friends, Mick. As with your experience, mine was very nice. This connection we have with people all over the world is a wondrous thing; actually meeting someone you'd not have met otherwise is very special.

I am sure if I lived in Australia it wouldn't be anywhere that got cold! I suppose you are bound to where you are due to family ties....

What a great sounding (and looking) lunch. Winter has shown up in Sydney too although it is sunny and cold but still not enough sun for me. I think I suffer from SAD too!

and while i know this will sound bad, i really wish we had winter now instead of the hot dog days of summer we have right now in Mostly Smoggy So. Cal.

i'll trade!

I always believe I suffered from S.A.D. when I lived in Victoria. I always found the winters painfully long. I hated coming home from work to a freezing cold house. I hated getting up in the morning to a freezing cold house. What we have here is just perfect - many are complaining it's freezing, but I am smugly enjoying it lol. I can wear winter fashion (in comfort) and my house is cosy, and the cold doesn't last long here. Your pies look yummy, you are such a good girl still eating all the 'right' things.

Are you knitting anything at the moment?

I know what you mean about cold dark days we seem to be getting our fair share and we are in the middle of summer.
I'm fed up of torrential rain I think its the record for July.

Don't you dare move! You need to remember how cold it was where you grew up!! This is nothing.

You may visit as often as you like but I will not have any talk of moving.

Me again. I've never really looked at your recipe site but what a wealth of info. Definitely going to make the egg and bacon pies. The mail courier who just delivered my mail wants one too! He saw the picture on my computer. LOL

Oh yum! Guess what I'm going to try have for lunch now :-)

I think I'm suffereing S.A.D. this year. The warmer weather can't come quick enough. Would you say Tasmania is as cold as New Zealand or colder?

Hope you get some sunshine soon - it's definitely one of the nice things about CQ - the amount of sunshine and blue skies we get and I definitely feel better with the sun warming my skin

With a few days of sunshine behind us and a few more on the way I am glad to say SAD looks like it is going out the window.

Thanks for checking up on me
