Hello Dears
I've been busy knitting lately. These pics show some of my projects.
It is now about four months since I have been able to do any exercise. I did try once on my tramp for ten minutes and was unable to continue, due to pain in my hips and knees.
I still don't know what really happened to me - it was a "virus". I think I have nerve damage from shingles. If the right side of my forehead is touched slightly I have a feeling like an electric shock travelling over my head. Consequently I have cut my own hair, as I can't stand the thought of a hairdresser touching my hair! Otherwise, I am functioning fairly well during the day and mainly only have pain at night in bed. Most nights I sleep fairly well now though. I think I have become used to living with "it".
I have another appointment with the Physician on the 19th of August. I really just want to know whether he thinks this could be a consequence of shingles and whether I will eventually be back to normal.
On the weight front - don't even ask!!
I have joined an on-line knitting community "Ravelry.com". It is amazing! So many talented people from all over the World. Access to lots of free knitting patterns and ideas. I love it and it has saved me from moping around feeling sorry for myself. The local northern Tassie girls have had a few knitting afternoons and it was lovely to meet them all. Some had already "known" me through reading my blog! As you know, it's always nice to meet fellow bloggers!
If any of you like to knit or crochet at all - join Ravelry - you will love it!
Take care everyone. Hope you are all well and happy xx

I am really sorry to "hear" about your continued pain, Suzy, and the way it has been limiting your activities. I'm glad that the knitting is helping you cope (to some degree). I hope your doc has helpful advice.

Oh dear, that is very boogelly. There is nothing worse than a mystery illness. Hope you do feel better. I am glad you can still enjoy some knitting: I see the nice cotton bag is finished!! I sometimes cut my fringe, but I am very bad at it. I look terrible!

Sorry you are still in so much pain... I can relate to pain at the moment, but of a different sort I'm sure. At least mine will eventually go away... hell I hope yours does too! Well done on the knitting, it looks neat what you have done.

How fortunate you are to find knitting. How awful to have such a horrible illness. I hope you are feeling much better soon. I was so sad to hear about your cat. We have adopted 2 cats (a 2 yr old and a kitten) this year and I know how important they are to a family. Look forward to reading mnore posts from you as your health improves.

So sorry Suzy to hear that you are still unwell. Undiagnosed problems are the pits - when you don't know if and when there is an end. Your knitting looks lovely. That's probably the only thing I miss from living in a cold climate - I used to knit heaps.

Take care of yourself and please keep blogging to keep us up to date. All the best for your physician's appointment.

I tried knitting a sweater for a cold-duck but the restaurant serving the duck wouldn't let me put it on him.
Hope they figure out what's causing your pain.

Oh Suzy, between the two of us.....
Now to your knitting. What an incredible wonderful array of items. Have you ever thought of selling stuff. If you ever do, let me know as I would like to be your first customer. I am always looking for warm stuff. My office is usually below 10degC when I get in in the morning so I like to rug up. Hope you are feeling better soon and dont worry about the weight, I'm not at the moment just concentrating on surviving. Take care. xxx
